Hello everyone!
We hope that you guys are having a rad Chinese New Year thus far; both Mandy and I have, hence the lack of updates - sorry about that!
We're also terribly busy with an onslaught of school work and productions, which we will be elaborating on shortly, so please put up with us we're working on balancing it all out!
Anyhow, Mandy and I decided to check out Food for Thought a few weeks ago at the branch closest to our school; on Queen Street. Thankfully it wasn't too crowded that day and we managed to escape the sweltering heat and grab a seat indoors.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8ZPPBhw32vDtQqwNaq0GCqA-b5FssxK_GQbhMXLD7VYXp4eXUbZ3FTtsl2QI7jx22xv61oVJcThM6upFC_m2s7b6FJfldFqttoq5bMxNm92R-XJ5JydWfXZoyqDzroMSUI8mX3qB6hUo/s1600/DSC_0324.JPG)

I was feeling just a little peckish that day so I opted for Gula Granola ($6) that had Toasted Rolled Oats with Sliced Almonds, Sunflower & Pumpkin Seeds, Black & White Sesame Seeds, Coconut, Candied Ginger, Mango & Raisin. I found it pretty unusual, with the gula melaka lending it an intriguing local flavour.Besides, I think you can never really go wrong with milk and cereal.
It was pretty alright, since it was a pretty fool-proof dish. As much I liked that the granola was home-made and fresh, I still couldn't quite find myself justifying the 6 dollar price tag.
Nonetheless it would make a lovely, fancy breakfast should you be looking for one to indulge in. Especially if you find the usual Eggs Benedict order way too mainstream!
Mandy ordered herself a cup of Cappuccino($4.50) , along with a plate of Grilled Vegetable Linguine($12)
to fill her up a little. In her words, she was starving and in severe need of a caffeine fix (as always)
She found the Cappuccino pretty standard, but satisfying nonetheless given how the refill of energy it provided was much needed. Mandy commented that the pasta was good with its nicely sauteed vegetables and al dente texture. She liked how the dish wasn't over-seasoned or over-salted but it was light and pleasant enough, allowing for the sauteed vegetables to take center stage.
We also gave their carrot cake a try because we were both feeling indulgent at the end of the meal.
It was rather alright-unexpectedly moist and had a decent carrot taste going on, all in moderated sweetness.
I would think my favourite carrot cake would be Cedele's, so if you guys are craving carrot cake you should try that instead!
I like the last bit;perhaps I should try that someday.
